Football gamers are football fans and they'd bite your arm off to sign a top player for their team. So, to promote the latest FIFA game we mixed the real world with the virtual one. During the real transfer window, Ruud van Nistelrooy announced he was coming out of retirement and looking to join a team. To sign him up, gamers had to complete in-game challenges to prove their worth. EA have never sold as many FIFA games since.
